wondir - philosophy and the meaning of life

what is the real definition of philosophy?
(1) Things don't need to have a point to exist.
(2) Then the first possible question is: What does philosophy do, today? You can look that up on wikipedia.
(3) The other possible question is: How can philosophy understand and charaterize it's essence, and measure itself. As far as the courses in university go, I'd say that philosophy is not really a science anymore. All science came from philosophy, but now all scientific questions are sorted into their disciplines, what remains is an effort to experiment with our common sense of meaning and beauty.

what is life?
Life is what genes use to procreate.

What's the meaning of life?
The "meaning of life" is the drive of the culture animal to look for its goals in its social environment.
